CRO Marketing: How does this strategy increase company profits?

Conversion Rate Optimization (CRO) is a powerful marketing strategy that helps companies understand the obstacles causing a drop in their physical and digital sales. However, even today, many small and medium-sized business owners are still unaware of its application and fail to take advantage of a valuable tool to boost their profits. In a constantly competitive market, however, understanding and leveraging this service is an important differentiator for maximizing operations and ensuring sustainable and prosperous growth.

This conversion rate optimization, translated into Portuguese, is a powerful tool, especially within the B2C sales context, helping to better understand what may be impacting sales conversion and, from there, establishing corrective actions that improve this return.

Many business owners don't understand why their websites or online stores receive a large number of visitors but fail to generate sales equivalent to at least 2% of that audience – a figure commonly used as a benchmark in most businesses. In this context, CRO (Conversion Rate Optimization) can present itself as a strategic solution for increasing company revenue. And there are plenty of global case studies that have already achieved enormous results with it.

One of the most famous examples that perfectly fits this theme involves one of the most famous video games that a large part of Generations X and Z had access to in their childhood: The Sims. In a campaign focused on the third title in the franchise, a change made to the game's page, emphasizing the attractive offer, increased the number of user registrations by 128%. But what change did they make? Just a visual adjustment that gave greater prominence to the fact that the game is free.

Within the realm of marketing, another HotJar project also reinforces these benefits. The technology company, at the time, decided to implement a single, simple pop-up where visitors received educational material (an e-book) in exchange for their name and email address, without extra fields or complications. Their insightful strategy was this: the pop-up only appeared to visitors who were opening the page for the first time and were about to leave. The secret? Avoiding any feeling of pressure or coercion for users still in the research phase.

Furthermore, there was an incentive beyond the content: those who filled out the form received not only the e-book, but also 30 days of free access to Hotjar's premium product. The results? An estimated monthly average of 70 new leads from this action alone, in addition to a conversion rate of 3.05% (using the market average for a good conversion rate of 2% as a reference), demonstrating a significant increase resulting from this planned insertion alone.

These examples demonstrate the power of the CRO process in achieving better sales results, making it almost impossible to ignore this type of analysis, which can be performed periodically to ensure that more and more leads convert and actually become customers of the company. This is an essential procedure for continuous growth for all companies that wish to stand out amidst such intense competition in their segment.
