JoomPulse, Mercado Livre, and Shopee meet to discuss the future of Brazilian e-commerce

JoomPulse, an independent AI-powered analytics platform, is hosting a roundtable discussion on May 19th in São Paulo, bringing together some of the leading voices in Brazilian e-commerce to discuss structural transformations in the sector and their impact on sellers. The event is free and is expected to gather over 300 participants, addressing topics considered sensitive to the operation and sustainability of digital businesses in the country.

The event aims to provide an analytical perspective on the current state of e-commerce, especially in light of changes that directly affect the profitability and autonomy of sellers. Central points of discussion include the advancement of artificial intelligence in marketplace store management, questions about the true profitability of operations, and the increasing dependence on platforms in a context of rising fees and pressure on margins.

Another relevant aspect of the discussion involves the growth of the direct-to-consumer model as an alternative for brands seeking greater control over their operations, in addition to the potential impacts of the Split Payment reform planned for 2026, which alters the revenue stream for sellers by anticipating tax withholding. This measure raises concerns about liquidity and financial sustainability, especially among small and medium-sized merchants.

The debate will feature prominent figures from the marketplace ecosystem, with direct involvement in the country's main platforms. Among them is Gabriel Bollico, founder of Ecommerce Puro, an official partner of Mercado Livre and Shopee, whose group operates official stores for brands such as PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo, Logitech, and HyperX, and generates over R$ 400 million in monthly GMV.

Also participating is Alexandre Nogueira, founder of Universidade Marketplaces, one of the largest consulting firms in Latin America, serving over 400 companies and acting as an official consultant for Mercado Livre. Completing the panel are Edson Saldanha, official Shopee influencer known as "Shopee Master" and one of the leading figures in the platform in Brazil; Vitor Hillman, creator of the Ajuda Vitor channel and a direct-to-consumer specialist; and Rodrigo Peres, a consultant specializing in Mercado Livre Full, with a focus on logistics operations and scaling in the fulfillment model. The discussion will be moderated by João Sartini, head of sales at JoomPulse.
