  1. Meet success “A financial psychology” (verified owner)

5.0 Out of 5 stars One of the best books I've ever read about money and actually people

One of the best books I have ever read in life when it comes to money is The Financial Psychology by Morgan Housel. And what makes this book so special is no secret formula, no promises of extraordinary returns. The impact comes from the right place: it treats money as it really is & a deeply human, emotional and behavioral phenomenon.

The great merit of the book is to attack a point that almost no one deals with with due seriousness: human behavior in the face of money. The central thesis is clear and powerful 'BEHavior matters more than technical knowledge when it comes to investments and building equity. And when you really absorb it, you come to see the market, people and yourself in another way.

Housel does not try to prove this with abstract theory. He uses real, human, concrete stories. One of the most emblematic examples is that of Ronald Read. A simple man, who worked his entire life as a frequentist and janitor, without sophisticated financial training, without large salaries. Still, he died with a patrimony of about 8 million dollars. This was only possible by investing regularly, living below his possibilities and, especially having patience. This example dismantles the idea that getting rich is linked to genius, luck or perfect timing. It is much more connected to constancy and self-control.

Another brilliant concept that the book brings is that of invisible wealth. We are trained to admire what is visible: expensive cars, luxurious houses, external signs of success. But the author makes a simple and disconcerting provocation: when you see someone driving a luxury car, what you are seeing is the money that that person no longer has. True wealth almost always does not appear. It is invested, stored, protected. This reasoning completely changes the way we compare financial success & helps reduce that silent anxiety of “estar getting behind”.

The book also explains the power of compound interest in an extremely didactic and convincing way. The example of Warren Buffett is used accurately. Although Buffett is seen as a genius, the author shows that the biggest differential of it was time. Most of the fortune was built after 50 years of age. This makes it clear that compound interest does not work as immediate magic. They need decades. But when they get together, growth ceases to be linear and becomes exponential. This is precisely where many give up too soon, because they do not understand the role of patience.

And perhaps the most important point of the book is the implicit criticism of the financial industry itself. The market sells the idea that investing well is to dominate economy, balance sheets, valuation, complex indicators. All this has its value, of course. But the book shows that the biggest financial mistakes of people are rarely technical 'they are emotional. Fear, greed, overconfidence, impatience. The psychology of money is not an exact science, and perhaps why it has been neglected for so long. But it explains why extremely intelligent people make bad decisions with money.

In the end, it is a universal book.It is not only for experienced investors. It is for anyone living in a capitalist world 'I.e., practically everyone. We all make money, spend money, save or invest. Sooner or later, we are all forced to deal with it. And understanding the behavior behind financial decisions is a huge differential.

In short: it is a simple, deep and necessary book. A reading that does not promise shortcuts, but delivers something much more valuable (Clearliness.Reading highly recommended for those who want to build heritage, but especially for those who want to build a healthier, conscious and mature relationship with money.

5.0 Out of 5 stars Excellent book!

For those who seek to educate themselves financially and understand the psychology of money, this book will certainly be a good acquisition. The book material is simple, but it is still a good product, undoubtedly the content of the book is great. I must point out that it seems that the emphasis of the content is for the American people, however, it serves for practically all audiences. Much more difficult than making money is to have psychological and financial education to keep it. Because our tendency is always to live in appearance and validation, and this leads us to bankruptcy, even for rich people. One of the very striking phrases of the book is the following,"Fortune is what you do not see", there are many people who are very rich, who are very rich people who are very much worth reading!
