Amazon surpasses R$ 75 billion in investments in Brazil after an investment of over R$ 19 billion in the last year

Completing 15 years since its arrival in Brazil, Amazon recorded a record investment of over R$ 19 billion in infrastructure, technology, and people across all regions of the country in 2025 — equivalent to over R$ 52 million per day throughout the year. This amount surpasses nearly 5 times the annual average of investments since 2011, highlighting the acceleration of its operations and the development of its various operations in Brazil, considered one of the priorities in its global expansion plans.

Since its arrival in the country with AWS in 2011, Amazon has demonstrated a growing commitment to the development of Brazil. With over R$ 75 billion invested in logistics, entertainment, local technology development, cloud services, and professional training and qualification, Amazon also fosters entrepreneurship and initiatives aimed at local communities. Of this investment, over R$ 65 billion contributed to the national GDP, according to consulting firm Keystone.

This growth has a direct impact on job creation. Amazon generates over 55,000 direct and indirect jobs through its business activities in Brazil — more than tripling since 2024 and representing a growth of over 50% compared to last year.

”By celebrating 15 years of dedication to Brazil and an accumulated investment of R$ 75 billion, we reaffirm not only our long-term commitment to the country but also the positive reception from consumers and the exponential growth of our business over the years," states Juliana Sztrajtman, president of Amazon Brazil.. “What excites me the most is that, during this period, each year we generate more jobs, boost entrepreneurship, and promote innovation in all Brazilian states, while enhancing the delivery experience for millions of consumers, offering the fastest delivery option among e-commerce in Brazil. Each investment is designed to strengthen the economy and transform the lives of Brazilian communities, wherever they may be.".”

Today, there are over 300 logistics centers operated with Amazon technology in Brazil, distributed across all 26 states and the Federal District — more than 100 of which were inaugurated in 2025 alone. In that same year, the company generated a contribution of over R$ 16 billion to Brazil's GDP, according to Keystone.

In 2026, this pace intensified, with an average of three new centers opened per week. This evolution is already reflected in direct benefits for consumers. Amazon ended 2025 with the fastest delivery speeds in its history in Brazil: over 50 million items were delivered to Prime members on the same day or the next day. Amazon's logistics network connects consumers from all regions — from the favelas of São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro to the riverside communities of the Amazon — democratizing access to e-commerce throughout the national territory.

The presence of Amazon in Brazil goes beyond a single business vertical, integrating into the daily lives of Brazilian consumers. Whether through the convenience of retail with Amazon Prime — which combines shopping, savings, and entertainment into a single subscription with Prime Video, Amazon Music Prime, Audible, and Amazon Luna — through AWS infrastructure, Echo and Kindle devices, or Amazon Ads solutions that drive growth for businesses of all sizes, Amazon positions itself as one of the most integrated companies in the country. This approach combines the global credibility of an innovative brand with a deep local rooting, built over 15 years of investment and direct impact on Brazilian communities and the economy.

The most important lesson from these 15 years is that when you remove technological barriers and provide the right tools, Brazilian creativity and innovation capabilities are on par with any market in the world.“, emphasizes Cleber Morais, general director of Amazon Web Services (AWS) in Brazil. During this period, AWS has evolved from being merely the pioneering cloud infrastructure provider to becoming the most comprehensive strategic partner in digital transformation in Brazil. Our role is to continue expanding this access — with cloud, with AI, and with constant investment in professional training..”
