Brazil records record number of companies opened in the first half of 2025

Brazil registered 2.6 million new companies opened in the first six months of 2025, the highest number ever accounted for a first half since the beginning of the historical series of the Federal Revenue. Among the main segments, stand out road freight transport (147 thousand records), delivery activities (136 thousand), advertising (132 thousand), hairdressers and beauty salons (126 thousand) and teaching (110 thousand). The growth of 7% in relation to the same period last year confirms the advancement of entrepreneurial culture in the country.

According to experts, the tendency to formalize reflects both the desire for professional independence and the need to generate income in the face of an unstable labor market Reginaldo Boeira, great name of Brazilian entrepreneurship and often invited by large corporations to lectures on sales and success, initial enthusiasm often run into common obstacles such as lack of technical preparation, management failures and emotional unpreparedness to deal with the ups and downs of a business of its own. 

Boeira, in addition to constantly following national and international scenarios, brings in his lectures his own story of overcoming: humble childhood, great falls, personal challenges such as facing a cancer and the “volta on top”. He is also founder of KNN Languages and president of KNN Group, holding company that brings together 12 companies in the sectors of education, construction and foreign trade. 

“It is very positive to see the Brazilian seeking autonomy through entrepreneurship, but it is necessary to remember that opening a company is not synonymous with guaranteed success”, says Boeira. According to him, the safest way for those who are starting and have no experience in management or in the branch they want to undertake, is still the franchise model. “When the entrepreneur chooses a validated model, with support, method and a brand already consolidated, the chances of success increase significantly, however, the choice of a franchise to invest has to be based on the passion for the segment and the trajectory and proven cases of the company”, he says.

For the entrepreneur, the fact that the education sector is among the ones that most registered new companies in 2025 is another sign that the market is aware of long-term opportunities.“I agree that education franchises, such as KNN itself, is a promising investment since we bring differentials as an exclusive methodology for Brazilians already attested by thousands of students. This type of model impacts on income, employability and the transformation of” communities, he concludes.
