GV Angels and MB partner to invest R$ 50 million in startups through tokens

Mercado Bitcoin (MB), the largest digital asset platform in Latin America, and GV Angels, the first alumni network of angel investors in Brazil, have formalized an unprecedented partnership to enable investments of up to R$ 50 million in startups in various stages. The value is the same already injected by the components of GV Angels in about 50 ventures since its inauguration in 2017, and nine successful exits. 

The way to invest will be as innovative as the startups that have been curated by GV Angels: it will be up to MB to structure and market tokens, at the cost of R$ 50 thousand to R$ 200 thousand each, exclusively based on the alumini network - Buyers, in turn, will be able to distribute the equivalent of the value of their tokens among the companies selected and curated by GV Angels 150 ventures may be contemplated. The structuring of the tokenization will be done in several stages to be defined soon by MB and GV Angels.

The token allows the angel investor to diversify its portfolio in a simpler and faster way, with lower costs compared to traditional investment processes, explains Mike Ajnsztajn, co-founder and president of GV Angels. “The simplification and cheapening of operations allow democratizing access to those who want to be part of the angel investment ecosystem, without burdening the ACHR stakeholders. 

The model created by GV Angels and MB combines financial decentralization with the power of the intellectual capital of more than 300 c-level executives, who identify promising opportunities and provide strategic and operational support to accelerate the growth of startups. This decentralized intellectual capital model demonstrates the effectiveness of uniting brilliant minds in a collaborative ecosystem, promoting innovation and business success in an impactful way. “The venture capital market in Brazil has adjusted, and the momentum is extremely favorable to invest and accelerate startups. Tokenized contribution offers an extra advantage over conventional angel investment processes: the flexibility to assign or transfer all or part of the token among GV Angels participants. All transactions will be recorded on the blockchain network, eliminating the risk of fraud and ensuring transparency to operations. 

The partnership also provides for the connection of companies listed on MB Startups (equity crowdfunding platform of MB) with GV Angels, expanding the connection of innovative startups with potential investors.
