Selbetti announces acquisition of Zecode and expands operations in automation for retail and logistics

Selbetti announces the acquisition of Zecode Technology, a company with more than 25 years of experience specialized in solutions for balance management, thermal printers, readers and data collectors.The move reinforces the company's strategy of consolidating an integrated technology ecosystem and expanding its presence in data-intensive physical operations.

This is the 45th acquisition of Selbetti since 2014, and the first of this year of 2026, continuing a consistent cycle of expansion based on the incorporation of complementary skills and the integration of solutions in a One-Stop-Tech model. Zecode, sold to Selbetti by Beontag, now comprises the portfolio of the Selbetti Label Solutions unit, adding expertise in data capture, identification and processing at the point of operation, an increasingly relevant layer in production and logistics chains. 

Headquartered in Sao Caetano do Sul (SP), Zecode develops and integrates solutions focused on balance management, thermal printing and operational mobility, in addition to operating with field service, rental and IT outsourcing services. With more than 80 professionals, a portfolio of more than 55 customers and annual revenues in the order of R$ 25 million, the company brings scale and capillarity in strategic segments to Selbetti. 

“A incorporation responds to a clear market demand: the need to integrate the physical world with the digital world with greater reliability. In retail operations, distribution centers and industrial environments, devices such as readers, collectors and printers are no longer peripheral and have become critical points of data generation”, explains Selbach. “When these elements are not integrated into management and analytics systems, they create bottlenecks that impact everything from inventory control to customer experience”, he adds. 

Integration between operation and data reinforces portfolio strategy 

By bringing Zecode into its structure, Selbetti expands its ability to act precisely on this layer of connection between operation and information. The company has already been consolidating a portfolio that combines infrastructure, process automation, data and security. With the new acquisition, it begins to strengthen the link of data capture and identification, which feeds the entire digital value chain. 

In the case of Zecode, integration occurs in the operational layer that connects devices used in day-to-day management systems. In supermarkets, for example, the operation of scales integrated with pricing systems directly impacts loss control and consistency of sales information. In logistics, readers and data collectors are used for movement recording and inventory control. Already in manufacturing, these equipment support production and traceability steps. 

This infrastructure, although barely visible in strategic decisions, is the basis for the quality of the data used by analytical systems. When there are failures in this layer, inconsistencies arise that affect from operational control to the use of data in automated processes. 

Zecode's operations also include field and outsourcing services, which extends Selbetti's scope beyond the implementation of solutions. In distributed operations, maintenance and continuous technical support become part of the operational routine, especially in environments with a large volume of equipment and service points. 

The integration of ZeCode also reinforces Selbetti's presence in segments that continue to expand in Brazil. Retail, pressured by narrower margins and the need for operational efficiency, has accelerated the adoption of automation and management technologies.  

In this context, the ability to integrate data capture into the operation with the systems that process and use it is becoming more relevant. Selbetti has been expanding its operations in this direction, connecting devices, systems and processes to reduce fragmentation and give more consistency to the information used by customers. “ The evolution of the market shows that it is not enough to digitize processes. It is necessary to ensure that the data generated in the operation is reliable, traceable and usable in real time. ZeCode strengthens this layer and expands our ability to deliver complete solutions to our customers”, adds Selbach. 

The operation is scheduled to start on May 4, when the structures start to operate in an integrated manner. Selbetti is expected to advance in the synergy between Zecode solutions and its other business units, expanding the offer to the customer base and exploring cross-selling opportunities over the next few months.
