Artificial intelligence does not solve the problem that still paralyzes companies

Although companies are increasing investments in artificial intelligence, cloud computing and automation, the preparation of technological environments is not keeping pace. According to the Cisco Cybersecurity Readiness Index 2025, only 4% of the organizations evaluated reached a level considered mature in cybersecurity, highlighting vulnerabilities ranging from infrastructure to system protection. The scenario reinforces a growing concern among experts: innovation is advancing, but many companies continue to operate on fragile technological foundations.

For Pericles D’Elia Junior, entrepreneur and specialist in technological infrastructure, electronic and audiovisual security, some organizations are investing in increasingly sophisticated technologies without assessing whether the network, connectivity and monitoring structure is prepared to support this transformation.

“Many companies are investing in artificial intelligence, automation and cloud systems, but continue to face basic infrastructure problems. A poorly configured network, inadequate cabling or lack of monitoring can compromise entire operations and generate much greater losses than people imagine”, he says.

According to the expert, infrastructure continues to be one of the least valued pillars within digital transformation projects. This happens because most problems remain invisible until a failure interrupts important company activities.

“When everything works, no one notices the infrastructure. But when there is a connection drop, a server failure or a network problem, the entire operation feels the impacts. Service stops, teams lose productivity and processes that depend on technology stop working”, he explains.

The warning gains relevance as companies' dependence on cloud platforms, integrated systems, online applications and artificial intelligence tools that require constant connectivity and operational stability grows.

In Pericles' assessment, many failures could be avoided with preventive maintenance, continuous monitoring and periodic reviews of technological environments.

“Most problems do not arise suddenly. There are usually previous signs, such as slowness, intermittency, equipment operating above capacity or recurring failures. When these alerts are ignored, the cost of correction is usually much higher”, he says.

In addition to the impacts on productivity, infrastructure also began to play a fundamental role in company security. Outdated environments, unmaintained equipment and poorly structured networks can increase vulnerabilities and facilitate incidents capable of compromising strategic information and the continuity of operations.

With more than 25 years of experience in technological infrastructure projects, corporate networks, electronic and audiovisual security, Pericles believes that the advancement of artificial intelligence will make the construction of solid technological environments even more important.

“Artificial intelligence has the potential to transform businesses, but it is not a substitute for reliable infrastructure. Before looking for the next innovation, companies need to ensure that the technological base is prepared to sustain this growth. Without this, any strategy is more vulnerable to failure”, he concludes.
