How pop-up shops organize temporary sales — and integrate the physical and digital worlds

Setting up a store from scratch in just a few days, integrating physical and digital inventory, training staff on a new system, and ensuring fast service during a high-traffic event. This is the challenge faced by brands that rely on pop-up stores, temporary flagships, and concept stores as a channel for customer engagement.

FILA found a solution to this problem at the Rio Open 2026. During the nine days of the tournament, the brand operated its official store at the event with a 100% cloud-based management system — Myrp Enterprise — which allowed it to open cash registers, control inventory, and record sales in real time without installing any software on the machines. It simply required internet access.

The main advantage of cloud-based systems for temporary operations is precisely the absence of heavy infrastructure. There is no need for local servers, complex installations, or on-site technicians. FILA's operation was structured quickly and functioned stably even during the tournament's busiest times, reducing queues and speeding up service.

“Being present at the event goes far beyond visibility: it’s about building relationships with consumers and strengthening our authority in the category,” says Adriana Negrão Magalhães David, Head of Marketing at FILA Brazil.

The results reinforce the strategy: products in the women's segment grew 11% compared to the same period in 2025, while men's launches exceeded 25% growth compared to the previous year.

Endless shelf: the physical store sells what it doesn't have in stock

Another classic challenge for pop-up shops is limited inventory. With reduced space and a limited product mix, it's common for consumers not to find the product they're looking for—and the sale is lost.

The integration between physical and digital aspects of Myrp Enterprise was achieved with the concept of an "infinite shelf": consumers who couldn't find an item available in the Rio Open store could buy it right there and choose to have it delivered to their home.

Tiberio Cesar Valcanaia, technical and commercial director of Myrp, explains that the proposal is exactly that: to simplify retail operations in temporary formats — pop-up stores, flagship stores, and concept stores.

“Having a solution that seamlessly connects the physical store and digital channels today means offering a seamless shopping experience. The modern consumer no longer sees a boundary between what is online or in-person — they want convenience, speed, and transparency at every point of contact. This significantly improves the shopping experience and reduces interruptions in sales,” he says.

FILA already uses this model in other initiatives besides the Rio Open, such as the FILA Marathon and the House of Racer.
