IAB Brasil, an association that aims to promote the sustainable growth of digital advertising, will bring to the country one of the most important events in the marketing world: the Global CMO Growth Council, where the most relevant executives in the field meet to discuss trends, challenges, and opportunities. The Global CMO Growth Council was created six years ago by Cannes Lions – the largest advertising and communication event on the planet – in partnership with ANA, an association that brings together the largest advertisers in the United States.
The first meeting in Brazil will take place in São Paulo on September 3rd, during AdTech & Branding, an event organized by IAB Brazil. The first edition of the Global CMO Growth Council will bring together approximately 40 renowned marketing professionals in Brazil. The goal of the local initiative is to extend the community created globally in 2018 and ensure that CMOs have a platform for exchanging ideas to define a positive agenda for the sector's growth.
To reinforce the importance of the first Brazilian edition, the global leader of the Cannes Lions festival, Fiorenza Plinio, and Nick Primola, executive vice president of ANA, will come to São Paulo for the event. “The debut of the CMO Council in Brazil shows the importance of the Brazilian market in the global marketing landscape. It is a unique opportunity for local marketing leaders to connect with their international peers, exchange experiences, and adapt global strategies to the Brazilian context,” says Cristiane Camargo, CEO of IAB Brazil.
Since 2018, approximately 50 executives from major groups have participated in global discussions. These debates have included CMOs from giants such as P&G, Unilever, AB InBev, Burger King, AT&T, Mars, and Mastercard. The goal of IAB Brazil is to bring this conversation to the Brazilian context. Participants in the local edition of the CMO Growth Council will become part of the group's global discussions, which go beyond advertising and marketing to include issues such as the use of technology and the environmental impact of the activity.
