Pix Automático already represents 28% of Nord Security's payment volume in Brazil, according to EBANX data

Nord Security , a global provider of cybersecurity solutions, has partnered with EBANX , a global technology company specializing in payment services in emerging markets, to offer its Brazilian customers the option of using Pix Automático. This method allows consumers to use Pix for recurring payments, such as subscription plans.

Six months after being integrated by Nord Security via EBANX, Pix Automático already represents 28% of the company's total payment volume (TPV) in Brazil, being adopted by 35% of its user base in the country. The partnership unlocked access to cybersecurity solutions for consumers who do not have cards or prefer to pay with Pix. According to the Central Bank, 60 million Brazilians do not have a credit card.

Pix leads online transactions in the country, with over 165 million registered users, equivalent to 96% of the Brazilian adult population. In the business-to-business (B2B) segment, Pix is also gaining strength. In March, companies accounted for 52% of the total volume of transactions via Pix, according to data from the Central Bank. At EBANX, Pix represents 81% of business-to-merchant payments, according to the Beyond Borders 2026 report.

Furthermore, in six months of operation, the approval rates for transactions initiated by Nord Security (merchant-initiated transactions, or MIT) rose by 20 percentage points, surpassing those of credit cards.

“By offering recurring payments with Pix through EBANX's infrastructure, we are delivering a seamless and automated experience to our customers that aligns with local preferences and limitations,” saysKestas Saulis, Head of Payments at Nord Security. “We are already seeing a direct impact on revenue and user base growth, while simultaneously expanding access to digital security tools for Brazilians.”

Nord Security is one of the world's leading VPN providers. In addition to its best-known product, NordVPN, the company has a broad cybersecurity and privacy portfolio that includes tools such as NordPass, NordLocker, and NordLayer, a network security platform that recently launched a browser specifically designed for small and medium-sized businesses.

“EBANX has offered Pix Automático to global companies since launch day, and Nord Security’s results prove its enormous potential for increasing the customer base and sales growth,” saysMarie-Elise Droga, Chief Revenue Officer of EBANX. “More than half of the consumers who use Pix Automático via EBANX are new users.”

In Brazil, eight out of ten companies that pay with Pix through EBANX are micro-enterprises. And 84% of them use the method to buy software, which opens up a new market for global SaaS (software as a service) companies in the country.

The automatic Pix system reinforces this opportunity because it eliminates the friction of manual payments, reduces cancellations, and makes revenue more predictable. “The recurring payment functionality of Pix is growing rapidly in Brazil and already shows enormous potential to attract more people and businesses to subscription-based digital services, such as streaming platforms and SaaS,” explains Droga.

The fastest growing sector in the Brazilian digital economy

The SaaS market in Brazil has the highest growth rate among all digital sectors, tied with online retail. According to data from Payments and Commerce Market Intelligence (PCMI) analyzed by EBANX, this vertical is growing at 17% per year (CAGR 2024–2028). At this accelerated pace, the projection is that the Brazilian SaaS market will exceed USD 28 billion by 2028.

“To reach a market of this size, companies with subscription-based business models need to offer multiple payment methods. There is no single formula that works for everyone,”analyzesDroga. In Brazil, Pix leads online payments, with a 44% share, but credit and debit cards remain extremely relevant, with 41%. To ensure broad coverage, Nord Security partnered with EBANX to also offer its Brazilian customers the option to pay with credit or debit cards.

“Increasing cybersecurity in emerging markets like Brazil is a major goal for us, and the bridge that EBANX has built between our Brazilian customers and the company has been essential in this mission,” adds Saulis.
