Sales of used Pokémon cards grew 130% through OLX between January and September, compared to the same period in 2024. Yu-Gi-Oh! saw a 62% increase during the same period. This is according to a survey by Brazil's largest classifieds marketplace for used goods, cars, and real estate, which evaluated four famous brands of collectible cards.
“The collectible card market is an example of how used products can continue to generate value through the circular economy. For buyers, it's an opportunity to find rare cards and expand their collection at more affordable prices. For sellers, it's a way to transform items stored at home into extra income,” says Flávio Passos, VP of Autos and Consumer Goods at Grupo OLX.
Among the four brands analyzed, Pokémon leads the sales ranking with a 92% market share. Yu-Gi-Oh! occupies second place with 4%, followed by Digimon with 2%, and Magic: The Gathering with 1%.

Most searched and advertised
Pokémon cards were also the most sought after, accounting for 91% of sales. Next were Yu-Gi-Oh! cards at 6%, Magic: The Gathering cards at 2%, and Digimon cards at 1%.

In the ranking of most advertised cards, the Japanese franchise also takes the lead, but with a smaller share than in the other rankings, at 83%, followed by Yu-Gi-Oh!, with 13%, Digimon, with 3%, and Magic: The Gathering, with 2%.

How to make a safer online purchase

- OLX does not have partnerships with ride-hailing apps such as Uber, Rappi, and 99. For sales and purchases with the OLX Guarantee, deliveries are available throughout Brazil via Correios (Brazilian postal service), Jadlog, Clique e Collect (Click and Collect), Loggi, and R3 Transportes (R3 Transport). Always check your sales history and how your product will be shipped in the logged-in area of the website or app
