WPP Commerce and Eitri have announced a strategic partnership to modernize the mobile app operations of retailers operating within the VTEX ecosystem in Brazil. The agreement foresees the migration of approximately 50 apps, representing around R$280 million in GMV annually, to the Eitri App Shopping platform over the next few weeks. The companies expect the technological upgrade to contribute to approximately 45% growth in GMV generated by these apps and an estimated average conversion increase of 180%, without altering current costs for the participating clients.
As a result of the strategic merger between Corebiz and Enext, two leading companies in the segment and part of the WPP Group, WPP Commerce becomes the largest end-to-end digital commerce operation in Latin America. Throughout its history, the company has developed around 300 retail applications and serves some of the largest clients in the VTEX ecosystem, with great potential for adoption of the new technology within its customer base.
Eitri's technology supports mobile operations that process nearly R$1 billion in annual sales through retail apps in Brazil. The company is at the forefront of a new generation of app commerceSaaS, based on a concept already consolidated for e-commerce platforms and different from current mobile app solutions, where apps cease to be closed products and begin to evolve continuously, with more flexibility and autonomy for brands. After the first migration phase, conducted in approximately nine weeks, the companies estimate reaching 128 active apps by the end of 2026, with a combined production capacity of approximately 20 new apps or evolution projects per month. In recent projects, clients who adopted Eitri's technology recorded a revenue increase of around 43% after adopting the new technological structure.
With this agreement, clients will be able to use native iOS and Android applications directly connected to the e-commerce infrastructure, with complete synchronization of catalog, prices, inventory, and checkout from the VTEX platform. The technology also automates updates required by the operating systems of app stores, reducing the need for frequent technical interventions and simplifying the management of mobile applications.
“This partnership reinforces our commitment to delivering the best market solutions to our customers. Eitri brings a modern platform that perfectly complements the VTEX ecosystem, allowing retailers to accelerate their sales in the mobile channel with a robust and scalable solution,” says Felipe Macedo, CEO of WPP Commerce.
Among the apps operating on the new platform or in advanced stages of implementation are brands such as Sawary, Levi's, BAW, Intimissimi, and Calzedonia, which could become major case studies for the initiative.
“Mobile commerce represents a gigantic opportunity for Brazilian retail. Our partnership with WPP Commerce allows us to bring the best app technology to an even larger base of retailers, with a model that eliminates the typical headaches of app maintenance and updates,” says Guilherme Martins, co-founder and CEO of Eitri.
The migration of applications will be conducted gradually, following a structured schedule, with direct monitoring by teams from both companies to ensure continuity of operations and progressive adaptation to the new technological infrastructure.
The apps included in the initiative belong to segments such as Fashion, Beauty, and Pharmacy, with the possibility of prioritizing certain sectors considered strategic for digital commerce.
In addition to the initial modernization of the applications, the companies are evaluating expanding the partnership over the next few months, increasing the adoption of the technology within the WPP Commerce base and possibly to new retail operations that do not yet use mobile applications.
The partnership also provides for the continuation of current commercial conditions for migrated customers, ensuring predictability during the technological upgrade process.
The applications developed on the Eitri platform include features focused on performance and customer engagement, such as push for direct communication with users, real-time order tracking, and optimizations that help improve conversion in the mobile environment.
