ApexBrasil and Amazon Expand Partnership to Qualify Brazilian Companies in the International Digital Market

The Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (ApexBrasil) and Amazon.com Brazil have announced the expansion of their partnership aimed at qualifying more Brazilian companies to conquer the international digital market. A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) will be signed during the E-xport Meeting 2024, an event that will take place in São Paulo from July 30th to August 1st. Registration is now open for companies interested in selling to the US market through the Amazon platform.

Signing of the Memorandum

Next Wednesday, July 31st, ApexBrasil and Amazon.com Brazil will formalize the MOU for the E-xport program, Amazon.com edition 2024. The signing will take place during the E-Xport Meeting 2024, part of the largest e-commerce event in Latin America, the E-commerce Brazil Forum. This event brings together experts, authorities, and market leaders to discuss and plan the future of global e-commerce.

Since 2021, ApexBrasil and Amazon.com Brazil have collaborated to support the creation of more than 60 stores by Brazilian companies in the United States through e-commerce. In this new phase, the program is restructured and aims to train approximately 200 Brazilian companies interested in expanding their businesses to the US. In addition to training, 20 selected companies will receive up to twenty thousand reais to implement their business plans.

The Amazon.com E-Xport program, 2024 edition, includes more hands-on planning and strategic support activities, as well as discounts from the supplier network and incentives from Amazon.com. The project cycle begins with basic training at the E-Xport Meeting and extends until the end of the year, with the operation of Brazilian stores in the American market.

“By renewing this partnership, ApexBrasil and Amazon.com Brazil are opening up opportunities for companies interested in operating competitively on one of the world's leading e-commerce platforms,” stated Clarissa Furtado, Competitiveness Manager at ApexBrasil.

“With Amazon’s International Selling Program, we’ve made the entire process easier and more efficient for those who want to export their products, providing specialized support. We are committed to supporting entrepreneurs in Brazil, strengthening their businesses nationally and enabling expansion beyond borders,” highlighted Ricardo Garrido, marketplace director at Amazon Brazil.

Amazon.com is present on every continent and ships products to more than 200 countries and territories. Valentina Neves, Amazon's Project and Partnerships Manager for Latin America, highlighted that approximately 75% of shoppers use Amazon to discover new brands and products, benefiting Brazilian sellers with the platform's high traffic.

According to Camila Paschoal, an analyst at the Competitiveness Coordination of ApexBrasil, the proposal aims to promote the internationalization of Brazilian companies through sustainable integration into global e-commerce and improve their digital presence. Amazon, in turn, seeks to increase the number of Brazilian companies exporting via its platform, providing training and democratizing exporting through international e-commerce.
