Blip, a global technology company focused on Conversational AI, has just announced that Daniel Costa, co-founder and chairman of the company, will take on an even more strategic role: driving major business and international expansion of the brand by passing the baton of leadership of the People area. The executive will work on the front line of connecting with the ecosystem, investors, partners and clients; while continuing to support and be one of the ambassadors of the company's culture. Daniel remains as chairman of the Board of Directors. For the past 4 years, Daniel has been a C-Level executive in People Operations, structuring the company's growth from 150 to over 1500 people with 4 offices in 3 different countries.
With this, another piece of news announced is that Luciana Carvalho, formerly of Ambev, Movile, and Sinch, and co-founder of Chiefs.Group, will now occupy the position of CHRO at Blip. The executive arrives to further strengthen the people management team. The company expects to double its international revenue this year, while revenue in Brazil should increase by 40%.
Luciana has over 15 years of experience in human resources, playing a role in building high-performance cultures and rapidly growing companies. Beyond HR, she has served on the Board of Directors of national and multinational publicly traded companies and led areas such as External Communications and Performance. She is also an angel investor in startups. Before founding Chiefs.Group, she worked at Ambev, Sinch, and Movile.
At Blip, Luciana will lead a team of over 70 people, overseeing initiatives aimed at more than 1,500 Blippers – as the company's employees are called. “I am very excited to be part of a company that continues to grow and is transforming the global technology market with its Conversational Artificial Intelligence solution. My arrival aims to evolve the People area, so that we can be an enabler of Blip's growth through a high-performance culture,” says Luciana.
Strategy towards expansion and IPO
These two moves announced by Blip are directly related to the company's new business and expansion strategy, including the goal of conducting an IPO. In his new position, Daniel will be responsible for being a catalyst for sales and partnerships, working in a connected and cross-functional way with executives Juliano Braz, VP of Sales, Philemon Mattos, Director of the Partner Ecosystem at Blip, and Francine Rosset, the company's Marketing Director.
“This decision is fundamental to the moment Blip is experiencing, with offices in Brazil, Mexico, and Spain, in addition to clients in more than 33 countries. I will focus on what an entrepreneur does best: engaging with stakeholders and decision-makers of major opportunities at Blip. I will also collaborate in further developing and strengthening the community of allies and partners for our business. I have always been involved in strategic decisions at Blip, but now I am taking on this role more explicitly and daily alongside the other C-level executives,” explains Daniel.
One of Daniel's main roles will be to make Blip an even more attractive company for investors. “We have a business plan to do an IPO in the coming years, and with this new position I will be dedicated and fully committed to executing the strategy alongside the global operation and new opportunities. Knowing the company from Day One and the weight of being a Co-Founder always drives results with all stakeholders,” he states.
