Jadlog )shipments in Brazil's e-commerce and B2B markets, is inaugurating its new logistics hub today (May 7th) in São Paulo, which will double its operational processing capacity. The project represents an investment of over R$ 200 million, the largest ever made by Jadlog in its 20-year history. The new hub features state-of-the-art technology and equipment, including a 310-meter-long sorter and the use of Artificial Intelligence in various stages of the operation.
“After growing tenfold in volume handled since the acquisition of Jadlog by the Geopost group in 2016, we are making the most significant investment in our history, with the goal of expanding our facilities, operational capacity, and bringing in the most advanced technology,” says Bruno Tortorello, CEO of Jadlog. “Our new headquarters will allow us to operate with high standards of intralogistics, strengthening the operation of our national distribution network, comprised of more than 500 franchises, 17 branches, and the Pickup network of 4,000 partner neighborhood commercial points.”.
Located in an area of approximately 20,000 m², the hub has 87 loading docks, approximately 2,000 m² of mezzanine space for offices, and 5,000 m² of support area.
The new sorter – equipment that automates the sorting of goods – has the capacity to move packages weighing up to 35 kg and was designed to operate at high speed, being able to process 18,000 packages per hour, significantly increasing productivity and reducing errors and rework. Among its main advantages are the high level of automation, the precision in reading and separating packages, the flexible layout, and the integration with Jadlog's management systems.
“The use of the new conveyor belts and the automated sorting system will allow for a significant increase in the volume of orders processed per hour, twice the current capacity,” notes Tortorello.
According to Jadlog's CEO, automation eliminates bottlenecks in internal workflow and ensures greater regularity, speed, and predictability in operations, especially during peak periods like Black Friday.
This project will directly contribute to reducing delivery times for both B2C and B2B sectors by accelerating the sorting and shipping stages. This will positively impact the total lead time, allowing for faster deliveries and greater predictability in deadlines.
Specific technologies
Among the specific technologies are high-speed scanners, advanced automatic code reading systems, and computer vision solutions, which enhance screening accuracy, increase processing speed, and reduce operational errors.
Digitization tools and artificial intelligence will be applied to the automatic reading of volumes, analysis of operational data, support for decision-making, flow balancing, and demand forecasting.
The new Hub will operate with state-of-the-art warehouse management systems (WMS), integrated with Jadlog's corporate systems, allowing real-time control of operations, full traceability, and continuous optimization of internal flow.
Sustainable construction
Designed to support the sustainability strategy of Jadlog and its parent company, Geopost, the new Hub was built with infrastructure prepared to minimize environmental impact, optimize resources, and reduce emissions. It features high-efficiency LED lighting, automation systems to control energy consumption, and equipment designed to reduce energy expenditure. It was also designed to progressively support the operation and expansion of Jadlog's fleet of electric vehicles.
The facility will adopt responsible waste management practices, focusing on proper segregation, material recycling, packaging reuse, and reduced plastic use. The new Hub project includes solutions for the rational use of water, including devices to reduce consumption and reuse whenever possible. Due to the implemented initiatives, Jadlog will receive the LEED silver certification seal for the new venture.
