OLX creates the technology training program, IncluTech; the first class will be for people with disabilities and will have an educational partnership with SoulCode

OLX announces the launch of IncluTech, an innovative technology training program created by OLX in educational partnership with SoulCode Academy. The first class will be dedicated to people with disabilities (PWDs), providing real opportunities and possibilities for employment.

According to the IBGE (Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics), the Brazilian population includes more than 18 million people living with some type of disability, representing approximately 9% of the country's population.

A survey conducted by Relevo in 2021 revealed that only 1.6% of job offers from technology companies are for candidates with disabilities. This highlights the urgent need for inclusive initiatives in the technology sector, one of the most promising and constantly growing sectors. Empowering people with disabilities is not just a way to solve the shortage of professionals in the technology sector. It's about changing lives, offering new perspectives, and opening doors through education, creating a more inclusive and just future for all.

“The OLX Group is committed to diversity and inclusion and, through this training project, wants to help transform lives, boost dreams, and promote a more equitable environment in the technology field,” says Christiane Berlinck, Vice President of Human Resources at the OLX Group.

Training programs are a way to invest in technical and personal development, enabling people with disabilities to seize new opportunities and advance their careers.

“We want these people to see that they have a place in the world of technology and in any other sector they desire,” says Carmela Borst, CEO and co-founder of SoulCode Academy. “Empowering people with disabilities goes beyond filling gaps in the market; it’s about generating new perspectives for the future and true inclusion,” she adds.
